Scrappy 9 patch with rails

My most recent finished project is this scrappy 9 patch with rails that I put together to demo to my local quilt guild. I made it as an example of how to use 2 1/2 inch strips, which we swapped a couple of years ago. It is a quick top to piece, and I machine-quilted it with a diagonal cross-hatch through the blocks, with large quilted diamonds in the border. It went together so easy and fast that I made a second one a couple of weekends ago when I spent the weekend sewing with my friend Barb. That quilt top is in blues and white, and will be donated to the Project Graduation committee to raffle off to the graduated high school seniors at their all-night party. The white bars will give ample space for the kids to sign their names, and will be a nice memory for the lucky winner :-)
