Frenchy Bag

Amy Butler's pattern for the Frenchy Bag is a fun and easy bag to sew. I used fabric from the M'liss Rae Hawley line of quilting fabrics purchased at JoAnn Fabrics. The structure for this bag is provided by sewing basic canvas to the wrong side of the bag fabric. I prefer sewing in the canvas rather than applying a fusible interfacing.......I just like the result. This particular bag was made for my son's girlfriend, and I wanted it to be strong and stable enough to throw a book or two in since she is a college student. The inner lining has pockets on both sides, and I made one a little shorter for her cell phone. Also added were a lanyard with a clip for her keyring, and a magnetic closure. I'm happy to say she was delighted with her gift!

  1. I love your bag! I bought an Amy Butler pattern but haven't started it yet. You are a very good seamstress. I hope to reach your level one day...
