Front Porch Knitting

Image
The summer here in Michigan has been on the cool side, but the evenings have been glorious: cool and breezy and perfect for knitting on my front porch after the dinner dishes have been done: That's the back of my Central Park Hoodie , coming along nicely!, knit with Cascade 220 . On the table you can see my new iPod Touch, and the KnitBuddy app is perfect for keeping track of row counts, project notes and pictures of my WIPs . Oh, and the evening glass of red wine doesn't hurt either.

February Baby Sweater

Image
Wow, I am finally posting about a finished knitting project! This is the February Baby Sweater from Elizabeth Zimmerman's book Knitters Almanac . I have actually knit this same sweater in an adult size for myself, and all that one needs is to sew a couple of seams, weave in the ends and sew on the buttons and then I can show it too. I've decided that I am really a process knitter: I love the knitting, and I'm so-so about the actual finished product. Guess that's why I like to knit for babies, the projects are faster to knit, limited finishing and SO CUTE when done! Check out these cute little lion buttons! I explained to my niece (who is expecting baby Maia in early Sept) that they are 'vintage', since they are from my button stash of kiddie buttons that I have from when I sewed/knit for my kids, who are now in their twenties!
